On Saturday I returned to the UK for the first time in over 5 months, which, as it transpires, is actually the
longest time I’ve been away from the UK.
I am fairly free and flexible, at the moment, so if you are based in the UK and would like to meet up, then I’d love to try to sort something out.
I do have a few plans for this summer,
- I am teaching in a Summer school in Oxford for all of July and a bit of August.
- I’m going to visit The Brimses out in Spain.
- I’m going up to visit an old friend in Leeds
- I’m sorting out a job for next year
- Learning Spanish
And I have also decided to give my hand a go at writing. This is largely due to inspiration from Jeff Goins Book You are a writer. I’ve decided to mention it as it fits in with the theme of the blog, Hospitality, Discipleship and Creativity.
As such I’m going to put some updates up on how this goes and what I learn from trying to stretch my ability as well as some resources I use for it. They won’t be regular, so don’t worry if you’re not interested in that but I do think some of these resources and ideas will be encouraging and useful even if you don’t have any desire to do any writing.
My immediate plan is to find some blogs, magazines, etc to write some small articles for and to set up a short story practising blog where you can comment on what you think and offer advice and improvement. Please do be constructively critical as it is the best way to improve.
As luck would have it, Jeff Goins is doing a special writing challenge for 15 days of June, starting on the 5th of June. Perhaps you’d like to check it out?
Are you a writer? What creative outlets do you have?
